Police are warning people in the Wem area to be cautious following reports of doorstep traders.
A resident of Eckford Park in Wem reported that a group of doorstep traders were calling at houses in the area around 6pm to 7pm, Monday, October 30.
A similar call was received from a resident in Garbet Close.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said a group of sellers had been active in Much Wenlock the previous week and a group had been reported in Hereford four weeks previously.
They added: “Please advise neighbours to avoid buying unsolicited goods from unknown and unannounced doorstep traders. Always check ID thoroughly if you can, and report any suspicions to local police as soon as possible.
“Thank you.”
