Whitchurch Rugby Club is issuing a 'call to arms' for town residents to back them as they are just two steps away from a famous appearance at rugby's headquarters in Twickenham.
The Reds will host a 'Clash of the Titans' cup final against Droitwich on Saturday at Edgeley Park (2pm).
With both sides unbeaten in their respective leagues, a monumental battle is expected for the right to call themselves Midlands champions.
Droitwich have lost only one game this season in the North Midlands Shield Competition – to Whitchurch.
The home side has won every single game it has played from warm up to league to cup to Shield and go into the match having scored more than 200 points in its last four outings.
Whitchurch chairman John Oakden says the prospect of playing at Twickenham, the home of English rugby, has given everyone at the club a spring in their step.
"The prospect of playing at Twickenham has made Edgeley Park an electric place to be," he said.
"The future of the club looks exciting with so many of the younger players opting to stay with their home club.
"We have several hundred mini and junior players here every Sunday and some of these will be forming a guard of honour for the teams as they enter the field for the final.
"I would encourage everyone to come and support their local team on Saturday."
The final alters several rules from league play by allowing seven replacements and this will enable Whitchurch to display its great strength in depth.
The final will also bring to Whitchurch many dignitaries and officials from all over the Midlands.
The winners of the Midlands Cup will then play the winners of the Northern Division, and if successful will then go onto play the RFU Intermediate Cup Final against the winners of the match between the South East and South West.
