A new market created a buzz in Whitchurch town centre at the weekend.
The Makers Market launched on Saturday – but this was no April’s Fool as dozens of award-winning individuals showed off their range of crafts items, food and drink – plus music.
Meanwhile a spring market took place in the Civic Centre, with crafts in the library and ramped indoor skatepark in the Market Hall.
It is hoped that the gathering will make the popular Whitchurch Farmers’ Market bigger and better then ever and is being led in partnership with Whitchurch Town Council.
Lisa Baldwin, event manager of the Makers Market, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Whitchurch Town Council on the new monthly Makers Market which promises to be an event not to be missed.
“We will work hard to protect the relationships that have been forged over the last three years of the Whitchurch Farmers’ Market and will continue to grow our relationships with the market’s regular stall holders, community groups and performers.
“We very much look forward to developing the event alongside Whitchurch Town Council.”
Situated on the Bull Ring and the High Street, the market is set to return on the first Saturday of each month between 10am and 4pm. To find out more visit www.themakersmarket.co.uk
