Cheshire firefighters help rescue cow in Burleydam after it became stuck in slurry pit

A COW had to be rescued in Burleydam on Thursday after it become stuck in a slurry pit concrete chamber. 

One fire crew was called out from Nantwich to support a specialist animal rescue team from Knutsford, both in Cheshire, to help lift the cow out of the pit in Lodmore Lane.

Crews used lifting equipment, ladders, dry suits and straps to rescue the cow and were on the scene for around three hours.
