AN Ellesmere schoolgirl died following a 'medical emergency' West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) has confirmed.
The incident occurred in the morning on Friday, December 9 at 7.54am.
Reports have indicated that the girl was a pupil at Lakelands Academy in Ellesmere.
A spokesperson for WMAS confirmed paramedics tried to save the girl but were unable to prevent her passing.
They added: "We were called to a medical emergency at a private residential property in the Ellesmere area at 7.54am on Friday.
"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
"Crews arrived to find CPR being carried out on a girl.
"Crews immediately took over resuscitation efforts but sadly, despite the best efforts, nothing could be done to save the girl and she was confirmed dead on scene a short time later."
The school and Shropshire Council have both been contacted for comment.
