Fire crews were called out on Friday afternoon to a car that was "well alight" near Whitchurch.
The call-out for Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service came in Church Road in Malpas, where one engine from the town's fire station was called to deal with the blaze.
A report on the service's incident log reads: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish a car that was well alight.
"Crews dampened down and checked the vehicle over with a thermal imaging camera."
