Meirion Anthony Williams Of Woodside Caravan Park

Meirion Anthony Williams Of Woodside Caravan Park, Vyrnway Bank, Llansantffraid, passed away suddenly at home on January 21st 2010, aged 67 years. Meirion was dearly loved husband of Joyce, and a loving dad of Tracey-Anne, Mark and Andrew, son in law of Annie Hughes, father in law of Rob and devoted grandad of baby Mischa. He was the son of the late William Benjamin and Margaret Williams. He was one of eight children, step brother Selwyn (deceased), Gwyn, Michael, Bryan, Dennis, Margaret (deceased), Sandra and Linda. Meirion lived with his parents at Vyrnway Bank from the age of 7 years old, and his dad passed away when Meirion was just 17 years old. Meirion worked at home on the farm to help his mother as well as going out doing contracting work. In 1966 Meirion decided to start Woodside Caravan Park, which he built up with his wife Joyce, daughter Tracey-Anne and his two sons Mark and Andrew. The funeral service was held at LLansantffraid Church on February 5th 2010 and the interment at Llanfechain Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Pam Powell and Barbara Morgan. The tributes were read by Belinda Edgerton, Meirions god-daughter, Siobhan Fletcher, family friend and Maureen Mathews. The bearers were Mark Williams, Andrew Williams, Michael Williams, John Ashton, Ken Pearce and Roy Hussey. Thanks : Joyce, Tracey-Anne, Mark and Andrew, wish to thank family, friends, neighbours, those who helped throughout the day and all the caravan park customers, the support and kindness has been amazing; thanks for the many cards, letters, flowers and messages of sympathy. Thanks for overwhelming attendance of people at the funeral and for the generous donations of over £1500 to support The Wales Air Ambulance and Llanfyllin Group Practice. Also many thanks to Rikki Lloyd, Welshpool, for providing excellent refreshments and thanks to Aubrey Kirkham and staff for their amazing help and support with the funeral arrangements. Our special thanks to Aubrey Kirkham for the poem read at the graveside. Meirion will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
