CHARLES DONALD MANN - The funeral has taken place of Charles Donald Mann of Candy, Oswestry who passed away at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on January 10th 2012, aged 80 years.
He leaves wife Joyce, sons Russell and Middleton and daughters Jane and Emma.
He was a Maths Lecturer at Makerere University Uganda, Senior Lecturer at U.C.L., Fellow of King's College, London; Warden at International Hall London, Cricketer, Oarsman, Bellringer and Singer.

The funeral service at St. Oswald's Parish Church, Oswestry was conducted by Rev. Simon Thorburn. Family mourners were Joyce (wife), Russell and Middleton (sons), Jane and Emma (daughters), Sheila (sister), Barry and Robin (sons in law), Richard (brother in law), Charles (grandson), Amelia (granddaughter), Mathilda and Esther (granddaughters), Seth (grandson), Mary and Catherine (nieces), Sheila Dawson (aunt), Jim Mann (cousin), Sheila, Marnie and Karen (great-cousins) and Sheila and Shirley Jones.
Other mourners were Claudio Vita-Finzi, Angela and Jack Hodd, Geo Hume, Chris More- Bridger, Nicholas Wood, Cdr and Mrs Gresham, Mr and Mrs Geraint Pritchard, Beth Llewellin, Trish Blunt, P and Mrs Humby, Mr and Mrs D Gouder, Alan and Betty Johnson, Mrs B Lawson, Mr and Mrs C Perkins, Mr and Mrs C Humphreys, Ian Davies, Irene Gull, Jim Phillips (O. THANKS: Joyce and family would like to thank all relatives and friends for sympathy received and thanks to those who attended the funeral. Special thanks to the members of Oswestry Choral Society and Lindsay Robertshaw, the church solo chorister and the bell ringers who all added to the beauty of the occasion. Also to the Rev. Simon Thorburn for his guidance through a difficult time and his understanding and appreciation of a man agreed by all to be 'larger than life.'
Thanks also for donations amounting to £500 for Dolen Ffermio and Oswestry Talking Newspapers. Much kindness was demonstrated by the Renal Unit at R.S.H. and the Allenby Douglas Team.
