BARBARA FRANCES GLYDE GOFF
(BOBBIE) - The funeral has taken place of Mrs Barbara Frances Glyde Goff (Bobbie) who lived at Topsham, Devon and died peacefully at Whipton Hospital, Exeter, Devon on 15th September 2012 aged 94 years. The service on 10th October 2012 at St. Mary's Parish Church, Kinnerley was conducted by the Rev. David Gough followed by interment in the churchyard. The organist was Sian West and catering provided by Ken Evans in Kinnerley Village Hall. Particular thanks are given to Len Squire for the reading and Jill Cripps for her superb eulogy.

She leaves three children, six grandsons and three great granddaughters.

Bobbie was born in South Molton, Devon and at 17 years of age went to train as an Orthopaedic Nurse at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry (RJ & AH). She also qualified there as a physiotherapist and teacher. Bobbie married Sam Goff (secretary of the Oswestry and District NFU 1937 - 1974) in 1941 and lived in Oswestry until 1996, when she moved back to Devon. Bobbie will be sadly missed by all who knew her. It was her passion for people and life, combined with her extensive knowledge and wisdom that made her an excellent teacher. Many physiotherapy students and patients are very grateful for her guidance and treatment. During her career and beyond her retirement, Bobbie specialised in the neuro-physiological approach to physiotherapy treatment. She gave many talks and lectures in the UK and around the world, meanwhile writing articles and textbook contributions. All of this culminated in Bobbie being awarded a fellowship by the CSP in 1988. During her latter sixteen years, living beside, and overlooking the river Exe Estuary, Bobbie thoroughly enjoyed her gardening and gained pleasure from observing and recording all the constantly changing wildlife scenes around her.
