Helen Smith - The funeral has taken place of Mrs Helen Smith of Coppice Drive, Oswestry who passed away on Friday August 2nd, aged 77 years. She leaves husband Ian Smith and son Kristyan Raven. Helen was one of the founders of The Crimean Research Society and discoverer of the George Smith grave in Whittington.
The funeral service at Emstrey Crematorium, Shrewsbury was conducted by Reverend Stephen McKenna. Family mourners were Ian Smith, husband and Kristyan Raven, son. Other mourners were Paul Tudor and his sister Tracy Tudor, Hazel, Emma and Manuela of Together, Clare Parry, Pauline Laney of Zest, Colonel P Knox of the Crimean Research Society and Paul Ridgley of the Waterloo Association.
The family wish to thank all those who attended the funeral and those who sent cards of condolence.
