A fund set up in aid of a Wem paramedic is urging people to go cardless this Christmas.
Thinking of Mel is aiming to raise £10,000 to fund rehabilitations and adaptations to the home of Mel Jago after she suffered serious injuries when she fell down the stairs in September, last year.
And as part of their fundraising efforts they are now calling on people to make a donation in lieu of sending cards.
They said: “If you are one of the increasing numbers that either already do this or are thinking about doing this then would you please consider making your donation to the ‘Think of Mel’ fund.”
The group is also asking people to make a donation of dog treats that will be given to animals spending Christmas at Grinshill Animal Rescue Centre after Mel gave a ‘furever’ home to her dog Coco.
Donations can be made by sending a cheque payable to ‘Thinking of Mel’ to Dennis Princes of Princes, 38 High Street, Wem, or by messaging the group directly on Facebook to make a direct payment.
