A LORRY driver from Whitchurch who took his own life did so intentionally, a coroner has ruled.
Marcin Kucharski, 36 and of Sherrymill Hill, was found dead in his home on July 8 by his landlord Julia Bellis.
The inquest heard how after not hearing from Marcin and becoming concerned for his wellbeing, friends attempted to gain entry to his house.
On entry to the flat, Ms Bellis discovered Marcin lying on the stairs and he was pronounced dead at the scene by police at 12.35pm.
The inquest, at Shirehall in Shrewsbury on Thursday, heard how in the days leading up to his death he had stopped driving and was on medication with Ms Bellis saying: "He hadn't seemed himself, almost like he was withdrawing himself."
Marcin moved to the UK in 2006 and initially lived in Malpas with his partner Dagmara Piekar, before divorcing in 2010.
At the inquest, coroner Joanne Lees gave a conclusion of suicide.
"On evidence the medical cause of death is of hanging," said Ms Lees. "I record that he was suffering from mental health problem and was taking medication.
"The evidence leads me to conclude that he intended to take those actions and cause his death.
"On that evidence I record that Marcin came by his death by way of suicide."
