Whitchurch Young Farmers’ Club have been busy in the build-up to Christmas as they continued to be one of the best performing clubs in Shropshire.
Last week representatives from the club came a respectable fourth in the Shropshire Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs Call My Bluff competition.
A club spokesman praised their efforts: “Tonight [on Wednesday], our team competed in the Call my Bluff final round for county and came away with fourth place!
“A huge well done to everyone that competed and super proud of our guys.”
The ‘Call My Bluff’ competition is just one the many the club, which meets monthly, takes part in.
Members recently headed to North Wales for a talk on breeding in the dairy industry.
The spokesman added: “Thirty of our members attended a wonderful tour around Genus ABS in Ruthin on November 21 where we had a brilliant talk and tour, while also seeing some of the bulls tthey have in that stud.
“Many thanks to Genus for having us.”
Meanwhile, the club is holding its Annual Christmas Dance on Friday December 20 at Whitchurch Rugby Club’s Edgeley Park ground in Edgeley Road.
The event is not open to under-16s and U18s have to be signed-up members, and will also need consent forms and identification.
Over 18s need their identification and membership cards if a member, while there will be food and refreshments available.
Tickets are £5 members and £10 for non-members.
It will run from 9pm until 1am and for more details, head to Whitchurch Young Farmers Club on Facebook for tickets.
