Meanwhile Wrexham continue to flatter to deceive in the National League and find themselves on the fringes of the play-offs under the management of Dean Keates in the National League.
If the much publicised takeover of the club is approved by the FA and Financial Conduct Authority, then the transfer of ownership would finally be announced seeing Hollywood A – listers, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, take control of the historic north Wales club.
If this is more than just a publicity stunt their hopes of a return to the English Football League for the first time since 2008 would significantly increase.
