AN OPPORTUNITY to tour one the country's only long barrow burial mound takes place this Saturday, October 9.
Soulton Hall will be hosting an open day for its Neolithic-style site, with a chance to view to newly built second chamber between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
A spokesperson explained that for those recently bereaved, reviewing alternatives, or have not quite found the right place for a set of ashes, there would be a chance to learn and ask questions about the services available.
They continued: "Families are using the barrow as an alternative venue to the crematorium. It is a secure peaceful resting place for ashes and a monument that will stand the test of time.
"Our Barrow Guardians, who support many families and individuals during what can be a difficult time, will be available to talk about how to create the most beautiful, individual memorial event."
Tickets have to be pre-booked and they have allocated 45-minute slots for up to six people.
The event is child-friendly and dogs are welcome.
