THE wedding sector is making a strong recovery post-lockdown, according to one venue near Whitchurch.
Iscoyd Park, based on the border with Shropshire and Wrexham, has been kept busy, catching up with weddings and other events postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The venue has also been given a boost after being paid a visit by Simon Baynes, the MP for Clwyd South
Mr Baynes made the visit to Iscoyd Park last month and heard from the owner managers Phil and Susie Godsal about the venue's strong recovery from Covid restrictions and bright prospects for 2022.
Phil said he was delighted to receive the visit from Mr Baynes after a difficult period through the Covid pandemic.
"After a difficult 18 months the bounce back in business for the Wedding sector has been strong," he said.
"Catching up with the many weddings that had to be postponed during the lockdowns has kept us very busy indeed.
"It is wonderful to see all those couples, some of whom had to postpone their weddings three or four times finally get married in a way that fulfilled their dreams and expectations.
"Encouragingly new bookings are strong which builds confidence for the future and aids our recovery.
"We are grateful for the great support Simon Baynes MP gave the wedding sector during such challenging times, especially with his work with the APPG for the weddings and for the times he spoke up for us in Parliament."
Meanwhile, Mr Baynes added: "It was a great pleasure to visit Iscoyd Park which is a beacon of excellence in the hospitality sector in Clwyd South.
"It was very good to hear first-hand from the owner managers about their strong recovery from Covid and bright prospects for weddings and other events in 2022.
"And it was very good to meet other staff members who have gone the extra mile for Iscoyd Park and its clients through the difficulties of Covid and now in brighter times for this very successful family business."
