A LOCAL Malpas choir sang at Chester Cathedral on Thursday January 6.
The Choir of St Oswald’s Church sang at the BCP Eucharist held at the iconic building in the city, during a mass set to the music of Charles Gounod.
The choir sang the Motet Tantum Ergo by Severec and the Three Kings by Peter Cornelius with the Baritone soloist, during the communion.
The organ accompanist was Henry Smith who is junior organ scholar at Royal Holloway, University of London.
The service was led by the Cathedral Precentor Canon Jeremy Dussak and the choir was directed by Stewart Smith.
A St Oswald’s Church spokesman said: “The choir can be heard at St Oswald's every Sunday at the 11am Parish Communion Service.
“New members of the congregation are warmly welcomed.
