A WALK for dogs and their owners to learn about what lives in the Mosses outside Whitchurch will take place next month.
The ‘Bog’ dog walk is going to be held at the Marches Mosses National Nature Reserve, Whixhall, on Sunday, February 6.
The walk is intended for dog owners keen to learn about what lives on the Mosses and how and why they are being restored.
The organisers hope to inform dog owners ground nesting birds use the area for nesting all year round and not just in nesting season.
Natural England volunteer, Stephen Barlow, will be taking his four-legged friends, Chalky and Joey, to demonstrate how dogs and wildlife can enjoy the Mosses.
Marches Mosses National Nature Reserve senior manager, Pete Bowyer said: “Dog walkers form a large part of our visitor community and we thought it would be nice if they had a walk focussed on them and their needs.
“Chalky and Stephen know the site well and can make the walk both fun and informative.
Community Engagement Officer, Mike Crawshaw, Joey's owner, added: “Joey loves walking here, and this is his opportunity to make new friends.”
