January is the month for dreaming.
Perhaps it is the short days and long nights or maybe it is one of the lingering effects of Christmas and New Year.
However at this time of year when much of the day is perpetual twilight we find ourselves day dreaming.
Even when we venture out for a stroll we walk into a sort of halfway house between being asleep and awake as the mist and occasionally snow turn our neighbourhoods into a different yet familiar world.
It is said the magic in new beginnings is the most powerful of them all.
Perhaps this is true.
Many of us will embark on new chapters in our lives this year.
A new job, a new addition to the family or perhaps retirement. Each offering its own excitement and trepidation.
Sadly we go into 2022 still in the grips of the global pandemic which makes looking ahead so much more difficult.
However after two years of living with so many restrictions on our lives and having lost so many people to the disease we can only hope that better days are ahead.
In the meantime all we can do as decent human beings is protect ourselves and those around us by following the rules.
Wear a mask, keep your distance and get vaccinated and boosted and we may start looking toward the day when we reclaim our lives.
