A DANCING trio from Whitchurch has won a workshop with non-other than dance group Diversity.
Throughout 2021 Jessica Hughes, Natalie Winchester and Hannah Hutson from GLOs Dance & Cheer, based on Waymills Industrial Estate, entered a national online competition with ‘Awards City’ in the hope of winning a place in the workshop with the group that won the third series of Britain's Got Talent back in 2009.
Each month the 12-year-olds were sent a piece of choreography to learn, film and send back to be judged.
The girls worked so hard and in different months, they each won a golden ticket to be in the final, which was in December and saw them tasked with learning and sending in the full routine from the whole year.
The videos were then put to the public vote and the trio had to be in the top 18 to win.
Their coach, Gemma Hodgkinson, sat up until midnight on Boxing Day waiting for the results, where the girls were announced as part of the winning 18.
She said: "I am so proud of them, they have worked so hard throughout the year and deserve this fantastic award, what an amazing opportunity."
Gemma, Jessica, Natalie and Hannah added that they would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for them, they are so grateful for every vote and making this experience possible for them at the last hurdle.
