WHITCHURCH AIR CADETS held a graduation and awards evening at the Whitchurch Civic Centre on Thursday January 27 following the completion of their basic training.
With the completion of their basic training and graduation, the cadets will be formally become members of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
Local World War II RAF Bomber Command veteran, Donald Fraser and his wife, Sylvie were guests of honour at the event.
The officer commanding 79 Whitchurch RAF cadets, Flight Lieutenant, Mark Goddard said: "Thank you all for coming and especially thank you for the support provided by the staff, Warrant Officer, Adam Cripps, Sergeant Bryony Chester, Mr Karl and Mrs Jane Chester, Mrs Deb Magee and Mr Mick Long.
"Also big thanks to Squadron Leader, Melanie Annis for her attendance on the night."
In addition to cadets who graduated, senior cadets received awards in radio communications and BTech Level 1 awards gained during the Squadron's lockdown period when events occurred virtually.
Those who received these awards were Cadet Sgt Magee and Cadets Crone, Collins, Magee and Wales.
The graduating cadets will now be able to progress onto further training and activities both on Squadron and within the Cadet organisation across the UK.
