A YOUTH group based in Wem have helped celebrate the beauty of north Shropshire's Meres and Mosses by taking part in a theatre event.
Wem Youth Group took part in a big hit at Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury, called "Mosses and Marches".
The event took place on Wednesday, February 23 and it celebrated the wildlife and natural beauty of Shropshire.
The project came out of collaboration between Wem Youth Group, Shropshire Wildlife Trust and Natural England and was supported with an Arts Council grant.
Wem Youth Group helped create three seven-metre-tall banners which brought the Marches Mosses peatland to life.
Anna Martin, Marches Mosses events officer at Shropshire Wildlife Trust said: "What was wonderful about this project was that it gave young people a chance to really know this important place on their doorstep.
"The project has had real depth, creating lasting memories and a sense of connection to the Mosses for the young people involved."
