THE chairman of Whitchurch Driving Instructors has praised political representatives for their support in the fight to keep the town's test centre open.
Ron Ingall has poured praise on North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan for her support to keep the test centre open, which is set to close next month.
He added that a lot of support has come from Shropshire Council and Whitchurch Town Council to keep the centre open and Mr Ingall singled out Shropshire councillors, Tom Biggins, Peggy Mullock and Gerald Dakin plus Whitchurch deputy mayor, Councillor Andy Hall for praise.
Mr Ingall appealed to the public for their support and said keeping Whitchurch test centre open was important for future generations.
He said: "All of you out there, the Great British public who, in the end, will put pressure on the Government and the Driver Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to treat our quest to keep the driving test centre open for our children and our children's children for the foreseeable future.
"We will only succeed with your support.
"This is not political.
"It is an effort to keep the test centre open for all.
"Please sign the petitions.
"Every one of you counts, no matter what age or creed.
"We can win this if we all pull together."
A protest convoy will be meeting at midday at Sainsbury's car park in London Road on Wednesday, March 9.
