PLANS to change a former butcher's shop in Ellesmere into two self-contained bedsits have been put into Shropshire Council.
The shop, in Scotland Street, was previously converted during the late 1980s by the former owner to establish a Butchers Shop and retaining the existing flat at the first and second floor level, according to a design and access statement.
Since the business owner retired, it was used as a delicatessen and off-licence but closed around 2018 and now owners are looking to change its use.

The statement added: "This application seeks to utilise the ground floor section and provide the opportunity for affordable rented accommodation to be made available and meet local demand."
It added: "The existing shop front entrance into Unit One will essentially be used as a means of escape. A new entrance is being formed at the side (while) the new access into Unit Two is via the communal tarmac passageway."
