ANDREW Harrison starred with five wickets as Wem stormed to an eight wicket win over West Bromwich in division two of the Birmingham Premier League.
Harrison (5-35) was supported by Alex Ollerenshaw (2-13) and Graham Wagg (2-11) in restricting the visitors to just 75 to defend with only Kobe Herft (23) posting double figures.
Sam Peate (28no) carried his bat in reply and joined by Josh Gough (30) in guiding the home side to the brink of glory before Wagg (10no) pushed Wem to 80-2 and glory.
Whitchurch tasted defeat for the first time this season with a six wicket loss at Quatt in the Henshalls Shropshire Premier League.
Whitchurch struggled with the bat all afternoon with only Iftikhar Khan (18) and Andy Jones (26) managing double figures as Jarryd Davies (5-15) and Jonathan Edwards (3-18) ensured their demise for a meagre 73.
Oliver Plank (40) was joined in a 58 run second wicket stand by Chris Miller before the latter was caught by Simon Marton off Kunal Dabas (1-7) for 20.
Plank was also caught and bowled by Shafiq Ahmed (2-16) but Quatt to spark a middle order wobble before Chris Miller (4no) guided Quatt to 74-4 and glory.
Meanwhile Ellesmere had to be content with a draw at home to Wellington IIIs in division two.
Kieran Barry (103no), Jonathan Mitchell (78) and Simon Rickett (53) starred as Mere posted a massive 311-7 to defend.
Krish Singh (2-46) and Shaun Mendis (2-36) led the wicket haul.
George Duncan (3-21), Bradley Chapman (3-51) and Felix Ashley (2-30) celebrated regular wickets in reply while Duncan Taylor (34), Simon Topper (30) Richard Atherden (28) and Matt Earley (28) led the challenge as Welly dug in at 193-9 for a draw.
Meanwhile Wem IIs crashed to a 62 run defeat at Albrighton in division three.
Chris Pickering (46) and Darren Shimmons (45) were joined by Charlie Mayhew (23) in leading the home side to 176-8 with Matt Butcher (3-45) and Keith Higgins (2-19) leading the wicket haul.
Dave Barnett (32) top scored in reply but Adam Shimmons (4-30) and Chris Morris (4-36) ensured Wem's demise for 114.
Elsewhere Calverhall opened their division four campaign with an eight wicket win at home to Acton Reynald.
Chris Rowe (3-22), Martin Williams (2-14) and Ian Millard (2-16) restricting Reynald to 106 to defend with Ian Fox (25) and Jon Cotton (25no) top scoring.
David Hares (53no) and Williams (42no) carried their bats in reply to guide Hall to 107 without the loss of a wicket.
Meanwhile Iscoyd and Fenns Bank scrapped out a draw at home to Newtown IIs in division five.
Tom Wynne (46) and Tom Lea (46) led Iscoyd to 190 to defend with Danny Foulkes (4-56), Paul Hawthorn (3-31) and Evan Smout (2-47) claiming wickets.
Adam Knight (64), Foulkes (35) and Aaron Knight (24) led Town to 158-7 in reply with Jonathan Hunter (3-36) and Lea (2-44) taking wickets.
Elsewhere Whitchurch IIs thumped Much Wenlock by 10 wickets as Jonathan Evans (3-18), Alex Heath (2-12) and Jack Baskin (2-26) ended the visiting challenge for 104.
Eddie Lewis (97no) carried his bat in reply to steer Church to 108 without loss.
Meanwhile Ellesmere IIs shared a draw at Alscott Heath IIIs in division seven.
Mike Francis (107no) led the hosts to 201-5 with Jason Wirdnam (2-36) leading Mere's attack while Rob Lawrenson (43) and John Mooney (36) guided their side to 153-9 in reply with Liam Pritchard (4-32) and Tim Clare (4-39) dominated.
