POLICE have confirmed a man in his 50s was arrested and subsequently bailed for a number of offences, including possession of a firearm, on Friday.
One man was arrested after officers from the North Shropshire Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) attended a report of a disturbance in St Mary's Street on Friday evening.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police confirmed a man aged 57 was arrested on firearms charges plus causing actual bodily harm and criminal damage but was then bailed.

He said: "Around 7pm on Friday, May 13, officers attended St Mary’s Street in Whitchurch.
"A 57-year-old man from Whitchurch was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm, assault causing actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
"He was released on bail pending further enquiries."
