PEOPLE are being encouraged to visit a north Shropshire nature reserve over the Jubilee weekend.

The Marches Mosses is a 2,500 acre stretch of lowland raised peatbog near Whitchurch.

Recently, there has been a £5 million effort, the BogLIFE project to restore the Mosses and make it a place where people can reconnect with nature and the funding has allowed for recent work for the development of it, including a new interpretation on the Mammoth Tower viewing platform, the construction of a bird hide and constant work to upkeep and create new walking trails.

A local resident Gary de Saram called the tower 'provoking.'

He added: "As a regular visitor to the mosses, I found the new interpretation at the Mammoth Tower informative, thought provoking and made me think that not only did it look good but that it would tell a story to all that visit."

The start of June marks the beginning of the UK's biggest nature challenge, 30 Days Wild, which encourages people to spend time in nature.
