A THANKSGIVING service will be taking place in Wem as the town marks Armed Forces Day.
Armed Forces Day will be taking place across the country on Saturday, June 25 as the nation pays tribute to both veterans and people currently serving in the British Armed Forces.
The town clerk for Wem Town Council, Penny O'Hagan, said the service will be taking place on the church green of St Peter and St Paul's in High Street.
She added: "A service to honour the armed forces past and present will be held on Saturday, June 25 2022.
"All are invited to attend this short service of thanksgiving on the church green led by the deputy mayor of Wem, Councillor Rosemary Dodd.
"Meet at 10.45am for a short service at 11am on the church green of St Peter and St Paul's."
