ARCHAEOLOGISTS digging in the grounds of a manor near Wem will be offering a tour.
DigVentures is currently investigating the ancient mound in Soulton Hall and will be holding the tour on Friday, August 5 at 3.30pm.
The event is free and a spokesperson for DigVentures said the public will get a first hand glance at the findings.
They added: "Archaeologists from DigVentures are investigating the ancient mound at Soulton Hall.
"How old it is? And what it was for? Is it a medieval fort? A gun-mount from the Civil War? Or something else entirely?
"We hope to answer these questions during our upcoming excavation, and we're inviting you to come along and get the first look at what we find.
"You won't need to bring anything except yourself and some sensible footwear.
"Trainers, walking boots or wellies should be fine depending on the weather.
"We strongly advise against sandals and high heels as the archaeology is in a field where the ground is uneven."
