A FOREST nursery near Whitchurch has been talking about its international work to the local MP.

MP for Clywd South, Simon Baynes, recently visited Maelor Forrest Nurseries near Bronington and learnt more about the organisation and met with staff.

Maelor Forrest Nurseries is owned by BSW Group and it grows an extensive range of commercial forestry and native, marketing 35 million trees a year throughout the UK and Europe and it supplies Natural Resources Wales with trees for the Welsh national tree planting targets.

Mr Baynes said it was fascinating to see the results of the company's investment.

He added: "It was a pleasure to visit Maelor Forest Nurseries near Bronington and to learn more about their leading position in the tree nursery business in the UK.

"It was also fascinating to see the results of the large amount of investment they have made in advanced environmental techniques in tree growing which will ensure that Maelor Forest Nurseries continues to be a market leader in both tree sales and environmentally sustainable growing processes.
