WELCOME to camera club as we approach the end of August.
It has been a summer to remember with two heatwaves, drought and political upheaval.
Little wonder perhaps we are now looking forward to the autumn when at least we can hope for some more moderate weather at least.
It is the time of year when villages and communities come together and celebrate with their annual shows.
It has been two long years for many to return and it has been pleasing to see so many people turning out to support these events.
Certainly such events are important and evoke civic pride.
We should all be proud of where we are from and what our communities represent.
Our neighbours are like our families only with different surnames. We know each others birthday’s, anniversaries and often enough our family pets view the neighbour as a friendly face to be trusted.
That is something to celebrate and an aspect of life we must all take part in preserving.
It costs so little to be friendly and civil while grudges are time and energy consuming, particularly with life so short.
We must all play our part in not only making a better life for ourselves but also the people closest to us.
Only then will we be halfway to living in a better world and one our children will grow up in with happiness and contentment.
