PUPILS in Whitchurch are 'relieved' to be finally receiving their GCSE results after "a lot of stress" around their exams.
GCSE pupils in Sir John Talbot's School (SJT) in Prees Road were delighted to receive their results and many will be moving on to study A-Levels either in the same place or at other colleges.
Charlotte Perkins received seven grade 9s including in Biology, Chemistry, History, Maths, Physics and RE and her friend, Elena Orfanidou received six grade 9s including in Business Studies, Drama, English, History and RE and Elena said they were relieved to receive them.
Elena said: "We are definitely relieved because there was a lot of stress before and now everything is fine.
"I could not sleep, I was taking to my mum about it. I got up at six o'clock, I was really excited.
"Throughout the summer we were thinking about it.
"I am going to Cheshire South and West College. It is bitter sweet to be leaving but we had good times and bad times but everything evolves and we move on.
"It has definitely been a good memory coming here."
Charlotte will be attending sixth form in SJT and is looking forward to studying subjects she just wants to study.
She said: "I am looking forward to it, I am looking forward to only doing the subjects that I really really like."
Kiera Ruston received three 9s in History, Religious Education and Biology and she will be going to South Cheshire College for sixth form.
Kiera said: "It feels a relief and I am very happy.
"I was terrified, I could not sleep.
"I will be going to college and doing A-Levels and then going to university."
Will Gilbert said he was pleased with his results and he got higher than his predicted grades.
He added: "It feels really good, I am pleased.
"It has worked out really well for me, I have got higher than my predictive grades.
"I was a bit nervous but I knew I had it in the bag."
The headteacher, Tim Stonall congratulated the students and said he was proud for the year.
He added: "We are so proud and delighted for our Year 11 students.
"They have gone through an awful lot in the last two years.
"They have been incredibly resilient time and time again, but the results today really show a reward for the efforts they have put in and the determination."
