A CARE home has created a 'library' for residents with a love of reading.
Joe Ward, who is the activities co-ordinator for Prospect House Care Home in High Street in Malpas, led the refurbishment of an existing room at the home which already featured an existing bookcase.
He made it more inviting for residents, created a relaxed atmosphere and added a number of new donated books to the room.
Joe has now thanked people in Malpas for donating books to the project, which has been well-received by residents.
He added: "We have a lovely quiet reading room and with thanks to the wonderful Malpas community loads of new books.

"We had books but they were well read so I decided to appeal to the community for books, the response was overwhelming. I received hundreds of new books.
"I can’t thank everyone enough for the support and generosity.
"From romance to biographies the library is packed with new content, and everyone is so happy with the outcome, they have been using it ever since."
The care home decided to donate old books which were no longer needed to a local church group.
