A EYE-CATCHING competition in Wem has raised more than £300 for a community transport minibus service.
The annual scarecrow trail and hamper raffle was held in the town to raise money for the Salop Wheelers, which provides a service for people to travel between towns and villages in north Shropshire.
A spokesperson for the event thanked the White Lion pub and those who took part for their support.
They added: "Wem recently held its annual scarecrow trail and hamper raffle to raise £320 for the Salop Wheelers.
"About 20 scarecrows were entered and judged by the public.
"The Methodist Church won the award for most original.

"The most accumulated points go to Wem Youth Club.
"Points were very close for these top four places with John Taylor and Spider-Man at coming in at the top.
"The raffle hampers were won by Tom Oswell and Nicky O’Flaherty.
"Thanks go to The White Lion Pub for hosting the day and to all who entered and judged to make it such a great community success again.
"The next event will be the Christmas-themed Wheelbarrow Pub Run on Sunday, December 18, also raising money for the Salop Wheelers."
