DANIEL Lloyd will play a role in the development of the next generation of Port Vale Football Club players.
He has lived in Malpas all his life in and is a former student at Malpas Alport Primary School and Heber High School.
The Malpas based coach has been unveiled as the youth development lead coach and assistant head of coaching at English League One club Port Vale after 11 years at Rochdale Football Club where he had a similar role.
He said: "Who knows what the future will bring? I’m looking forward to the new challenge and hopefully helping the next generation of players progress into the first team at Port Vale."
He will continue to play for Malpas Football Club where his family have enjoyed a long involvement through his father Tommy.
Tommy Lloyd was a semi-professional footballer with Telford United and currently runs the burger van at Broxton picnic area off Broxton roundabout.
Tommy also played for Malpas and has been involved with the management side of the Cheshire club for the past 25 years.
