THE organisers of the Whixall Scarecrow Hunt have hailed a successful event and different charities will benefit from money raised.
The event took place on Saturday, September 17 and there were many scarecrows placed around the village.
In a statement, the organisers said Blood Bikes, Hope House and The Lyneal Trust will benefit from money raised.
They added: "Another successful year for the Whixall Scarecrow Hunt. Fantastic scarecrows dotted all around Whixall for all to see.
"This years winners were Berti Bassett in the fun category and Worzel Gummidge in the traditional category.

"An afternoon of kids activities took place on Saturday, September 17 in the Whixall Social Centre followed by an evening doo with a live bank ‘The SKB Band’ and DJ Yatesy and a good time was had by all.
"The three charities that will benefit from money raised is Blood Bikes, Hope House and The Lyneal Trust who gave local senior citizens a boat ride, followed by a meal at the Whixall Marina courtesy of the Grocotts Trust.
"We would like to thank Med Evans from Darwin Wealth Management Services, Sherratt Farm Supplies Ltd, The Sun Inn, The Bull & Dog, Hedgerow Honey, Oak Farm Ice Cream, Bronington, Mr & Mrs A J Hough, Lower Tilstock Park Farm, Tri-cycle ice cream/Roden Garage and Audlem Printers.
"Plus many local donations, to many to mention."
