North Wales Police confirmed that the A539 near Hanmer has been closed due to a road traffic accident.
Police are asking motorists to avoid the area.
A spokesperson said: "Due to a road traffic accident on the A539 at Hanmer, Whitchurch the road will be closed – please find an alternative route. Thank you for your assistance."
Google's traffic mapping service shows that the stretch of road passing Hanmer Mere is currently closed.
