A BURNT-OUT car stranded in flood water in Whitchurch has led to a road closure, police have announced.
Officers from the North Shropshire Safer Neighbourhood Team were joined by Shropshire firefighters for reports of a car in the flood water that had been on fire.
Firefighters were called to the scene near Prees Road and Sedgeford Road at 7.08am on Wednesday, November 23, from the Whitchurch station.
They used a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus to put out the fire.
Police were also at the scene and North Shropshire Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) tweeted: "There is a temporary road closure on Prees Road/Sedgeford Road due to flood and car fire.
"As soon as it is recovered, the road will be reopened."
A stop message was sent to Shropshire Fire's control confirming no further support was needed at 7.46am.
