POLICE in Whitchurch have confirmed they have arrested a male after a number of incidents were reported in the town.
A number of thefts and assaults were reported to police over the last few days and Whitchurch Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT) has called on residents to contact them if they had any information.
Police confirmed they are gathering more evidence and "efforts are being made" to make arrests on two other males.
A Whitchurch SNT spokesperson said: "A number of incidents including thefts and assaults have been reported in the Whitchurch Town area over the last couple of days.

"Whitchurch SNT have been working closely with our patrol colleagues to obtain all available evidence.
"One male has been arrested and efforts are being made to arrest another two who are known.
