A REGISTERED sex offender from Wem who was found with multiple indecent images of children will be sentenced at Shrewsbury Crown Court.
Roy Boardman, 77 and of High Street in Wem, appeared at Telford Magistrates Court on Tuesday, March 14 charged with the making of five Category A – the highest level – images, one Category B and 14 Category C images.
His police supervisor found the images after a routine check of his devices.
He was accused of making the images between September 27, 2019 and August 24, 2021 – Boardman pleaded guilty to all three charges.
The court heard that Boardman had received prison sentences for similar offences dating back for more than a decade, and a court order was imposed on him in 2013.

He was fined in November 2022 for two, non-sexual breaches of that order when he purchased a replacement for a wet phone and went on holiday without informing his supervisor.
He was told by Magistrates: “This is going to be committed to Shrewsbury Crown Court for sentence.
"They will write to you to give you a date, so look out for that, and you’re on unconditional bail.”
