ROADWORKS will continue for the rest of this week on a busy Whitchurch highway after an unexpected issue was resolved.
Contractors Kier Highways are carrying out major repairs on the Chester Road which are expected to last until Friday (March 17).
This means the road will be closed between 9am and 4pm every day.
However, three-way traffic lights had to be set up on Monday night after the Kier team discovered a collapsed catchpit - an empty chamber that is installed in drainage systems to prevent blockages.
This was lifted on Tuesday (March 14) afternoon and the road was reopened.
