LIFE will imitate art for the Whitchurch Little Theatre's next show with a murder mystery set within a murder mystery.

The group will be performing 'Murder In Play' at the Civic Centre theatre between Tuesday, April 18 and Friday, April 21.

Jenny Matthews, from Whitchurch Little Theatre, gave a little preview of what the audience can expect.

She said: “Boris Smolensky's budget repertory production of creaky old murder-mystery 'Murder at Priorswell Manor' is looking decidedly shaky.

“The cast is more interested in their egos than the play and life imitates art when one of the actors is murdered on stage.

“Employing a play-within-a-play device, it ruthlessly satirizes the politics of the inept company.

“Numerous red herrings between the laughs keep the audience guessing until the final moment of the action.

“It has some great comedic moments by the cast who at times end up playing three different parts because of Boris's meanness.”

Written by author of detective fiction, playwright, and TV and radio producer-writer Simon Brett, his hilarious text is a worthy companion to his Charles Paris theatrical thriller novels.
