THE owner of mobile catering business has hailed its opening night near Whitchurch.
Dawn Davies set up Dough & Grill alongside her daughter Taylor and the pair welcomed members of the public to try their food on Friday, April 21 outside Whixall Social Centre.
Pizza was the main item on the menu and Dawn said they had a busy evening.
She said: "I did not expect to get a turnout like that, it was phenomenal.
"The queues were literally from the van to the gate and people kept coming and coming.
"It was amazing.
"Not everybody actually received a pizza in the end because we sold out. We sold out of absolutely everything.
"Even though we sold out, there was not one bad word or comment from anyone in the queue which was really lovely."
Dawn was previously the landlady of the Horse and Jockey in Northwood near Wem but closed it after it became extremely expensive to run.

She spoke about what led her to start the mobile catering business.
Dawn added: "I actually knew a person who built catering vans and I just happened to get chatting about it with him.
"And he said he didn't know why we weren't giving it a go. It is not like running a pub.
"I just wanted to stay in the industry so I had a chat with Taylor and she said we should give it a go and see how we get on.
She added: "It was nice to get back into it without all the complications of big massive bills."
Dawn hopes to be able to pick up business through different events including weddings.
She said: "In the queue in Whixall we got a couple of wedding bookings out of it.
"We didn't have the van finished until just after Easter weekend.
"We were not certain the van would be ready or how ready we would be to serve people.
"Now it is up and running, we have got bookings coming in.
"It will be nice to go out and work at festivals, and weddings and see the local community."

Dawn hopes to be taking the van to other places.
She said: "We will be going to other places.
"We will be going back to Whixall next week after popular demand. We will be doing a burger night.
"Maybe another night I might try and do a fish and chips Friday.
"There are so many things I can do, it is nice to try something different."
