ELLESMERE Town Council has released more on its plans to celebrate the King's coronation next month.
There will be a parade and a picnic at the Beech Grove recreation ground on Bank Holiday Monday, May 8, from 12-4pm to celebrate King Charles III’s big day.
A spokesman for Ellesmere Town Council said: “Real horses will lead a coronation-themed walking parade around the recreation ground prior to the community picnic.
“We would like to welcome everyone to join us by either being part of or watch the parade, before enjoying a fun afternoon.”

The spokesman added: “The instructions of how to make a hobby horse at home will be passed to the schools, published on the Town Council Website, Facebook page, Ellesmere Community News pages or available for collection from Ellesmere Town Hall, 1-3 Willow Street, Ellesmere, Shropshire, SY12 0AL.
“There will be Maypole dancing, fun, games, races and the mayor will be hosting a Coronation Cake Competition.
“All cakes will be auctioned off to raise funds for the mayor’s charities.”
