A NEWLY refurbished pub welcomed its local MP recently.
Simon Baynes, MP for Clwyd South visited the Cross Foxes pub in Erbistock, on the Shropshire/Wrexham border, last month to see the work of the Martin brothers who are trying to make the pub a hotspot for locals again.
Since it re-opened on April 8, the pub has already seen a regular flow of customers, and Mr Baynes said he was delighted to visit the pub with Sarah Atherton, MP for Wrexham.
Speaking about his visit, Mr Baynes said: “It was fantastic to see first-hand how well this pub is doing since recently re-opening.
“The meal was delicious and it was a pleasure to meet Sean Martin – The Cross Foxes plays a crucial role in our community.
“I wish them every success in the future.”
When the 18th-century pub was forced to close last year, it was a shock to the Erbistock community as the Cross Foxes had long served the area.
Fortunately, the pub was bought by the chain Marston’s and duly taken on by the brothers Sean, Matt and Robbie Martin.
The Martin brothers said: "We would like to thank everybody for their support, custom and for the incredible feedback.
"It's been a pleasure to re-open such a wonderful pub."
