A MAN from Whitchurch has been sent to prison for four weeks after he was resentenced by magistrates.
Daler Singh, of Egerton Place, appeared at Telford Magistrates' Court facing three charges on April 3, this year.
The court was told how the 47-year-old had appeared at Worcestershire Magistrates' Court on July 7 last year for drink-driving a Ford S-Max in Whitchurch. He had 91 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 35mcg.
He had also failed to surrender to Shropshire Magistrates' Court on July 8, last year.

Singh was given a community order when he was sentenced on July 22, however he failed to attend unpaid work appointments on December 22, last year, and January 19, this year, and failed to provide evidence to cover the absence.
Singh admitted the breach on April 3 and was resentenced for the drink-drive offence, while the community order was revoked. No separate penalty was issued for the resentencing of his failing to surrender offence.
Magistrates said Singh would be sentenced to prison for four weeks because the offence so serious and the justices went outside their sentencing guidelines due to circumstances he finds himself in.
