THE Mayor of Whitchurch has hailed the town's community spirit as residents celebrated the coronation of King Charles over the weekend.
The town had plenty of events for people to attend including a screening of the coronation in the Civic Centre in High Street on Saturday, May 6 and then the town's 'Party in the Park' on Sunday, May 7.
Councillor Andy Hall spoke about it being a busy day.
He said: "It has been an amazing bank holiday weekend.
"There have been loads of events on particularly 'Party in the Park.' That was absolutely packed.

"It was a very busy day."
People in the town were able to enjoy live music from the group, Mr Wilson's Second Liners on Sunday.
Cllr Hall said: "We had Mr Wilson's Second Liners revisit Whitchurch.
"The group returned and it did not disappoint.
"It did two sets for us, one in the park and they marched round the park with the instruments and entertained the crowd.
"It was fantastic."
The Whitchurch mayor spoke about how the event provided an opportunity for young talent in the town to perform.
Cllr Hall said: "The other good thing was that we had all the young talent that Whitchurch had to offer.
"For example, we had all the young people from Whitchurch Amateur Dramatic Society.
"We had the two bands from Sir John Talbot's school.
"It was very much a case of showcasing the talent we have got in Whitchurch."
It had been one of the biggest get-togethers the town had had in a while.
Cllr Hall said: "There have not been that many people out in Whitchurch town centre since pre-Covid-19.
"That was something which was so pleasing to see, so many people out enjoying themselves."
Cllr Hall was pleased to see many people volunteer to help in the coronation.
He said: "We talk about volunteering which is one of the biggest things King Charles wanted to portray.
"So many volunteers helped and stepped up on the day.
"We had all the people from Blackberry Fair and fellow councillors.
"Everyone was chipping in.
