CORONATION Street star Ian Bartholomew, who lives in Malpas, has announced he will be holding auditions for young actors for an upcoming short film.
The auditions will be held in Shocklach Oviatt Primary School near Malpas on Saturday, May 13 between 1.30pm and 6pm for the film, The Sea, which is written and directed by Ian and produced by his wife Loveday Ingram.
The Malpas-based actor, who is best known for playing Geoff Metcalfe in the Manchester-based soap opera, confirmed the auditions are open to both boys and girls.
Ian said: "Are you around nine to 12 years old and interested in acting?
"We are holding open auditions for the part of a young boy or girl in a short film called, The Sea.
"Auditions are on Saturday, May 13 in Shocklach Oviatt Primary School."

Ian explained that children must attend with a parent, legal guardian or carer, while recalls if needed will be on Wednesday, May 17 between 5pm and 7.30pm.
He added: "We are looking for a child actor who looks about 11 years old. We are considering children who are aged around nine to 12 years.
"No previous acting experience is required and the date of filming will be on Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18 and the location will be south Cheshire."
Young actors and actresses have been encouraged to prepare a two-minute-long extract from a play, poem or reading of their choice.
Loveday said: "If you would like to audition, please prepare a short piece of your choice of a maximum of two minutes long.
"This could be an extract from a play, a poem, or a reading of your choice. No film or TV extracts please.
