A TWO-DAY country fair involving an English Civil War re-enactment took place last weekend and drew in thousands of visitors.
Marbury Merry Days took place in a field adjacent to St Michael and All Angels Parish Church and Marbury Big Mere on Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14.
The proceeds from the weekend will go towards the upkeep of the church.

Local photographer Jonathan White was at the event and spoke about the attractions which visitors were able to enjoy.
He said: "Marbury Merry Days was officially opened by Winnie Bullock with and Rachel Weaver, who are ambassadors for Cheshire Young Farmers Club (YFC).
"The main attraction this year was The Sealed Knot who brought the English Civil War conflict to life with drill displays, skirmishes and a living history settlement.
"Other attractions and events included Pinxton Puppets, a tombola, bric-a-brac and book stalls, a craft and gift fair, side shows and refreshments, along with Glos Dance Troupe and maypole dancing.
People also enjoyed the Wirral Pipe Band, the Fun Dog Show, Gun Dog Scurry, Cheshire Farm Ice Cream, a children's activity area, bouncy castles, a model flying display, a floral display in the church, trade stands, classic cars and vintage tractors and climbing wall.
"There was also a fun Royal selfie photo competition.
"The Fun Dog Show had classes for cutest puppy (under 12 months), golden oldie (over 8 years), prettiest girl, handsome chap, best rescue, young handler (under 12) and waggiest tail.
"There was also a ‘Best in Show’, which was won by Grace Roberts who showed her Irish wolfhound Chloe.
"Grace's mother Jo won the same event back in 2010.
"Local TV vet Steve Leonard was the judge."
The event was sponsored by a number of local businesses in north Shropshire and south Cheshire including Alderford Lake, DA Roberts Fuels Ltd and Barlows Electrical Retail Ltd.
Visitors were able to enjoy a Battle of Britain flyover by famous British aircraft from the Second World War.

Jonathan added: "On Saturday there was a spectacular flypast by a Battle of Britain memorial flight Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire.
"Attractions inside St. Michael's & All Angels Parish Church included a spinning demonstration by Jean Betteridge and floral decorations.
"Next year’s Marbury Merry Days will take place on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12, 2024."
