A PERSON was cut out of a car by firefighters following crash near Whitchurch.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting the crash had taken place outside Prees Heath Common Nature Reserve on the A49 at around 2pm this afternoon (Thursday, May 18).
The section of A49 between the end of Whitchurch Road to Prees Heath Roundabout will be closed for some time and police have encouraged motorists to find an alternative route.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "The A49 at Prees Heath Common between the end of Whitchurch Road to Prees Heath Roundabout will be closed for some time due to a serious road traffic collision.
"Please find an alternate route."

Three fire engines were mobilised from Prees, Whitchurch and Wellington and an operations officer was in attendance and a person was cut out of the car.

The air ambulance and West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) were also at the scene and have been contacted for comment.
The stop message to say no further help was required was received at 2.38pm.
